🐕 Apex is the Peak of Love for the Doggos 🐕
We spend a lot of time talking about all of the cool human stuff in Apex so we wanted to highlight the humans that spend so much time and love on our animals!
Independent Animal Rescue - First on our list is Independent Animal Rescue. This dedicated non-profit finds homes for hundreds of unwanted cats and dogs each year in the Triangle region of North Carolina. Their tireless work ensures that many furry friends find loving forever homes.
Peak Lab Rescue - Next up is Peak Lab Rescue, North Carolina's largest foster-based dog rescue. They specialize in saving Labrador Retrievers and Lab mixes from high-kill shelters, providing them with a second chance at a happy life. Their network of foster families is crucial in this life-saving mission.
Saving Grace - Saving Grace partners with shelters in North Carolina that have high euthanasia rates to find adoptable dogs and those in need of critical care. Their commitment to rescuing and rehabilitating these dogs is nothing short of heroic.
Apex Protection Project - Apex Protection Project is a unique 501c3 non-profit that protects wolves and wolfdogs through rescue, advocacy, and educational experiences. Their work not only saves these majestic animals but also educates the public about the importance of their conservation.
Harmony Animal Rescue Clinic - Last but certainly not least, Harmony Animal Rescue Clinic provides low-cost veterinary care to non-profit animal rescue organizations. This invaluable service helps rescue groups save more lives by ensuring that the animals receive the medical care they need.
Upcoming Dog-Friendly Events
Taps and Tailwaggers at Tapstation - This Sunday, from 12-3 PM, Tapstation is hosting Taps and Tailwaggers, an event you won't want to miss. Drink beer and pet dogs…I’m not sure there is a better Sunday option! Together with The US Dog Coalition and Rescue, Tapstation will be serving the pints so you can pet the pups!
Southern Peak Brewery's $5 Pours Don't forget, Southern Peak Brewery offers $5 pours every Friday, and dogs are more than welcome! It's the perfect way to end the week with your four-legged companions by your side. Supporting our local animal non-profits helps make Apex the peak of good living for our furry friends and their humans.

Salamanders Host Bark in the Park
Might as well stay on the four legged front! The Holly Springs Salamanders hosted Bark in the Park on July 11th. Ripken the bat dog’s brother Champ was the goodest boy making sure bats were where they needed to be and furry fans were cheering for the team and the mascot! Chik Fil-A is CLOSED! But not permanently
The Beaver Creek Chik Fil A closed it’s doors on July 13th for remodeling with a proposed reopen date in September. This is one a few stores in the area that are temporarily out of service. The Apex location posted on Facebook, “We are getting a major remodel to help support the growing Apex community. We apologize for the inconvenience, but our team is excited to be able to provide even better service in the future.” Fans supported each other in the comments with recommendations of other open locations to visit and words of encouragement on how to get through the next 2 months without nuggets. The Peak City Scoop highly recommends the Wendy’s in Haddon Hall Commons. Our experience with Wendy’s in every other part of the country is mediocre at best but the HH Wendy’s has you in and out of the drive through almost without stopping, the order accuracy is always on point and the food is hot and delicious. We don’t know how they do it, but it’s an incredible team in there working hard!
