🍦Wednesday in the Peak! Remembering the fallen and looking forward to hope this weekend.

The Patriot Day Ceremony is an annual event hosted by the Apex American Legion Post 124. This event reflects on the tragic events of September 11, 2001, with remarks from Apex public safety, Town Council, and other community members. Wednesday, September 11th from 9:30 am – 10:30am at the Downtown Service Memorial, at the corner of Saunders Street and Salem Street.
Road closures (9 am - 11 am): Salem Street from Chatham Street to Center Street; Saunders Street from Commerce Street to Salem Street. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will move to Apex Fire Station 1 (210 N Salem Street). If you would like to plan ahead for parking, this map may help: www.apexnc.org/downtownparking

Doherty’s Apex is counting down to March 17, 2025 and what better way to ease the waiting than celebrate the halfway point?! This Saturday at 2pm, they will host their Halfway to St. Patrick’s Celebration with live outdoor music, Irish Dancers and Irish food and drinks. If you want a table inside, make sure you make a reservation as they fill up quick! The party mostly takes place outside as Doherty’s blocks a portion of the parking lot in the shopping center at 55 and the Peakway.

If the luck of the Irish withstands the Doherty’s celebration, head to Zinhouse in Durham on Sunday! Toast to another ½ way to St. Paddy’s Day celebration with bagpipes, vendors, live music and yes, Irish dancers. Sláinte! 21 and over!

From 1-4pm on Saturday, Sharktoberfest is being held at Vicious Fishes in Apex! Because Octoberfest does not need to be in October and let’s be honest, Sharks make everything better. Enjoy German food, their fest bier, and German music by the Little German Band from 1-4pm.

Hops for Hope is holding their 2024 celebration on Saturday from 2-6pm at North Hills Midtown Park! Hops for Hope, presented by Duke Health, is a celebration of community and collective spirit of the Triangle, uniting over 30 companies and breweries committed to making life-saving and life-changing care accessible. This ticketed event underscores the power of people coming together to make a significant impact.

This inspiring event supports Children's Flight of Hope’s mission to provide families with hope and healing through flight. Teams will present their brewed creations to attendees from 2-6 p.m. at Midtown Park in North Hills. This family-friendly festival is open to the public and features live music, food trucks, and a kids' zone. Help them hit their goal of $475,000! See how close they are HERE!
