An emotional announcement from Crumb and Cream Owners
The beloved Crumb and Cream Bakery has announced its bittersweet decision to close its trailer doors. The bakery, known for its adorable bakery trailer, delicious baked goods and fun drinks, will remain open until August 3rd, allowing loyal patrons one last chance to enjoy.
The decision to close is an emotional one for the owners, who have cherished every moment of their journey with Crumb and Cream. However, they assure their customers that this is not the end, but rather a step towards exciting new adventures. They will still be hosting classes in the community, taking custom orders and planning the next phase of Crumb and Cream. Additionally, the bakery is selling the trailer from which they have operated. This move marks the beginning of their plans for bigger and better things, and they are eager to share more details in the near future. 🚌 FIELD TRIP! The Scoop Visits Surf City, NC 🚌
Nestled right in the center of Topsail Island, Surf City occupies about 10 square miles. The Surf City Pier (pictured below) was originally built in 1948 but was destroyed by Hurricane Fran in 1996 and was completely rebuilt in 1997. The Pier is 937 Feet long and offers two large fish cleaning stations with fresh running water, plenty of lighting for all night fishing, a large, well-lit parking area, fully stocked tackle shop, souvenirs, grill and outside dining area and ice cream! Check their website here for fishing fees. If you don’t want to catch your dinner, you can still steam it! Topsail Steamer offers seafood steam pots prepared with fresh local seafood, meats, veggies and homemade seasonings to take home, steam, eat & enjoy! Their Bay Buckets® come in a “one-time” use pot with “easy to follow” instructions. Surf City is great for a weekend trip to the beach but be prepared to find an air bnb or week long rental since there are no large hotels in Surf City on the island side.
