Downtown Businesses Host Sidewalk Sale

Stop downtown this weekend starting at 10am. Participants include Rose & Lee, The Tulip Magnolia, Alleyway Bookstore, CharleyMadelyn, The Apex Gallery, Artfully Apex, Adventures in Bloom, Villa19, Monroe Boutique, Gail & Grace, Sawdust & Clay, The Cocoon Gallery. Take a stroll, do some early holiday shopping and stop for a cocktail and a snack at Neat & Sweet or Salem St. Pub. Grab a beer at Highcraft or have dinner at Peak on Salem or Scratch.

The beloved Veggie Wagon in Carolina Beach begins a very grateful recovery this weekend. Yes, we said grateful. Wednesday the team posted on their Facebook page and the post began with “First, we’d like to thank each and every one of you…” they continued to praise the town staff, first responders and emergency workers for getting everyone to safety and a quick response to help needed.

Staff had to wait for water to recede to assess damage and said, '“unfortunately it is even worse than we could have imagined”. They are leaving the space until today to drain and then begin clean up work while they production kitchen and their other location are up and running. They said that once clean up is complete, they will have a clean slate to make the location “bigger, better and stronger than ever.”

If you’d like a help and are in the area, a community clean up is being hosted for those that want to lend a hand on Friday, September 20 - 10:00AM. “We will be accepting help from our community in starting the clean up process at the CB store! Bring a pair of gloves if you have them and wear sturdy, closed toed shoes. We are infinitely grateful for all of the helping hands.”
