Pittsboro Hosts its First Palooza

Downtown Pittsboro together with the Pittsboro Business Association from 12-5 on Sunday, October 5th. The event will have food trucks and local vendors but also hopes to educate the community on ways to get more involved in future events and happenings. Don’t miss the first ever Pittsboro’s Got Talent at 1:30. Slots are full for performers so it’s now your job to go cheer on the talent! Don't miss being a part of the charm and small town love that is Pittsboro, where you will “come for a visit and leave as a local”.

Mayor Jacques Gilbert Continues to Work on Utility Resolution

On Thursday, the Mayor posted an extensive update on his Facebook page about utility billing situation and the process that is ongoing to resolve it. Key points addressed were:
✅ “Some eSuite customers may continue to experience discrepancies between what our system shows and their personal records.”
✅ “For those using automatic bank drafts, I recommend temporarily pausing this feature if you're unsure of the amount that will be drafted and included a link to unenroll.”
✅ “I believe a pause on all auto drafts is a plausible solution short term as we work diligently to reconcile the issues.”
At the conclusion of the update he acknowledged that impact of the situation and that it could have been handled better. “I fully acknowledge that this situation could have been handled better, and I’m doing my best to improve communication and I’m committed to continuing to serve as a channel of comms . As your mayor, I remain focused on keeping you informed every step of the way. Your feedback is essential in helping us improve, and I encourage you to share it as we continue working to resolve this.”

Responses and comments ranged from full detailed experiences, frustration and questions but all had an overall feel of gratitude to the Mayor for staying connected and communicative as the situation develops. Mayor Gilbert responded to most, if not all, of the comments with encouragement to message him directly so he could help with specific concerns and situations.
